A simplistic and efficient medical app where patients can book & discuss their health related problems.
Challenge
When a patient wants to book a gp appointment or request a medical prescription, there is a lengthy process to achieve that.
For example with a gp appointment , the patient must call up the medical group and wait behind a queue which could possibly last 30 minutes. Even arriving at the medical group, the patient would still have to wait as possible delays can happen. Overall causing a frustrating experience for the patients.
According to the 2019 NHS statistics , more than 15 million out of 307 general practise appointments are being wasted each year. This is due to patients not turning up or warning surgeries they will not be attending. One in twenty are missed without enough notice to invite other patients. Therefore the challenge was to figure out a way to reduce this statistics.
Solution
The solution was to design an app that will provide a easy experience for both patients and GP surgeons such as:
- Easy appointment bookings/cancellation without any lengthy process.
- Have a medical appointment remotely i.e video call, messaging ect.
- Simple prescription request. Reducing the lengthy travel from medical group to chemist. Instead, they can collect their medicine straight to their located chemist.
- Have an informative experience by being able check the queue for their appointment.
